Aloha kākou e nā pua o Kahikinui
The purpose of this site is to provide us a repository of ʻike Hawaiʻi about Kahikinui - predominantly through moʻolelo, mele, place & wind/rain names, Hawaiian language newspaper articles, anthropological & archeological reports.
One of the greatest challenges in this kind of research is that information for Kahikinui is scattered all over the place. Bits and pieces have to be found, often translated and then digitized for inclusion on this site. It is a slow process - but we have to start somewhere.
Throughout the site, especially with the chants, you will see brackets [ ] with italic fonts. These are personal observations, notes and clarifications. With that said, I donʻt know everything - and as this site grows, there always be corrections and additions as it evolves. If you see anything that needs correction or want to add more information - send your manaʻo directly to me via the email link on the homepage.
Last, I donʻt know if this will be the final site/repository - as I think there may be better website templates elsewhere…but this is what we have for now.
Ke aloha nui iā kākou a pau
