Moʻolelo

“ Indigenous stories aren’t myths or folklore. They are our histories, lessons and truths. They are our oral traditions of our origins.”

Only a handful of moʻolelo exist regarding Kahikinui. Pāmano being the only one is fully centered in Kahikinui/Kaupō.

In other moʻolelo, the main characters are here temporarily - but it doesnt lessen the importance of Kahikinui within the consciousness of our kūpuna.

In these moʻolelo, we find a treasure trove of ʻike; chants, place names, protocols, ceremony, etiquette, lessons and outcomes. No matter how many times we read and internalize them, there is always something new we learn from them.
